By choosing Shedd Aquarium as your Chicago special events venue, you can make a substantial environmental and social impact. 

Sourcing sustainable and responsibly sourced seafood is the most direct action we can take together to create a world thriving with aquatic life. Azure at Shedd Aquarium only purchases seafood that is abundant and is caught in environmentally responsible ways. 

In addition to sourcing sustainable seafood, we have taken the following steps to protect our world´s oceans:

• Eliminating single-use plastic throughout the aquarium 
• Working with local food-recovery partners to ensure that unserved food helps the less fortunate 
• Composting leftover food 
• Recycling used cooking oil for biodiesel fuel or as an ingredient in liquid hand soap
